The Story of Moncha

A small journey through Japan.

January 1st, 2025.
A light that changed everything.

Standing before the first sunrise of the year, Moncha co-founder Hiroshi felt one clear thought:

"I want to deliver this — this atmosphere, this stillness — to the world."

First sunrise of 2025
Hiroshi on stage

Once a period-drama actor.
Still carrying that quiet spirit.

On stage, Hiroshi learned more than performance. His master taught him stillness, beauty, and delicate attentiveness — feelings that later found their way into Moncha.

Not just the famous spots.
The ones you stumble into, too.

We traveled through Japan's celebrated places and its quieter corners — small towns, unhurried streets, shops with no signs in English. Each one left something behind.

Matcha tea

Not just things.
The warmth behind them.

We don't just select items. We look for the atmosphere of the land, the presence of the people, and the story behind each piece — the feeling of something passed from one hand to another.

"I've never seen
anything like this."

That moment of being completely captivated — standing in front of something you've never encountered before, wanting to take it home.

That feeling is what Moncha is built around.

From Japan,
to the world.

From the past to the present. From Japan to the world. From offline to online.

Each box carries a small piece of that journey.

Moncha is not yet
a finished story.

If you find your own small journey inside this box, that too is the continuation of Moncha.
